We are so excited to be hosting Heart of MS Missions again this year! As you read this, we are finalizing the details, and are working hard to make this work camp the best one yet!
Tell Me More About Heart of MS Missions!
HMM is for students in grades 6th through 12th. College students & adult chaperones are of course, also welcome. Anyone is welcome, regardless of their church affiliation.
Heart of MS Missions is a few days in summer where youth from across the state of Mississippi meet in the Jackson Metro Area to serve our community! We're working on finalizing the details for 3 service projects we hope to complete this year during HMM. The intent is to provide help to those in our community who can't afford it or to help other organizations in our area who are currently helping those in need.
Participants are encouraged to stay the entire week (arriving on the evening of Monday, June 5 and departing on Saturday, June 10 after breakfast), but if needed, we will make arrangements to accomodate late arrivals/early departures.
It varies. In the past we have completed park renovations, built shelving for local nonprofits, painted houses and completed yard work for those in the community, etc.
Youth groups and chaperones will be housed in Lake Harbour's members' homes. If transportation is needed to and from housing locations, arrangements will be made.
A MS Braves game and a cookout on the Rez are the fun activities we have planned so far for each evening! More entertainment fun is in the works! In addition to the evening activities, each day will consist of morning devos and a time of worship after the work day.
There is no fee to attend Heart of MS Missions. Students will need to bring money if they'd like to purchase extra food items at the entertainment venues. We will be more than happy to receive a donation from congregations attending to go towards the service project materials, but donation is not required.

- Prepare Lunch Bag for Work Day
- Travel to worksites
- (around mid-afternoon) Clean up worksite & return to LH
- Shower & freshen up either at LH or at host homes
- Return to LH for supper and Bible lesson/worship
- Evening activity either at LH or activity site
- Return to host homes & rest up for the next work day!
