Opportunities to Serve the Body

  • To organize a shower for every new mother-to-be or bride attending Lake Harbour. This includes fiancé’s of prospective grooms.

  • To assist in baptisms by keeping the baptistry area neat and supplied with necessities for both men’s and women’s baptism dressing areas

  • To manage the overall supplies and care of the kitchen and pantry

  • To uplift and encourage through calls, cards, or visits to members who are ill, hospitalized, grieving, shut-in, missing worship assemblies or experiencing other difficulties; to recognize member’s birthdays or anniversaries, new or recently baptized members, etc.

  • To select ladies Bible class materials that will edify and focus on issues that pertain to Christian women in their daily lives.

  • To plan and organize activities that encourage fellowship among our women

  • To work with church leadership to establish a working lending library for the edification and spiritual enrichment of our members

  • To provide care of babies, aged birth to three years, in the nursery during worship services; to maintain a clean, safe and properly supplied nursery environment

  • To identify opportunities to help those in need from within and outside our congregation (ex: Matt’s House, Sunnybrook Children’s Home, etc.)

  • To give honor and recognition to our members on special occasions such as Mother’s and Father’s Day, High School Graduation, Veteran’s day, etc.

  • To keep resource room stocked and organized for Bible teacher use; to consult with teachers and identify materials they need for future classes

  • To oversee food needs; work alongside with established Home Groups in taking food for bereavement and special needs

  • To emulate I Timothy 2:1-4 through supplication, prayer, intercession, and thanksgiving to grow our individual and collective prayer life

  • To follow Titus 2:3-5 and pair Heart “Moms” with Heart “Sisters” and gather in monthly meetings hosted by Heart Moms offering fellowship, a meal, and devotional; Heart Moms are women whose children have moved out of the home, whereas, Heart Sisters are women aged 18 and over, married or single, but not Heart MomsTo emulate I Timothy 2:1-4 through supplication, prayer, intercession, and thanksgiving to grow our individual and collective prayer life

  • To plan an annual event for women of LH and other congregations to worship together, build relationships, and focus on the selected theme; to determine a speaker to encourage our walk with God
