As I was leading "Break My Heart Dear Lord" at our Youth Group Area Wide for the local churches around here, I was moved to tears. For so long, I have wanted nothing more than for our teens to know they are not alone in their faith. Seeing people their age sing praises, and learn about scripture was truly a blessing for everyone involved.
This not only uplifted me personally, it also made me realize just how much we can get tired of the same old, same old. We've all had times where we simply are not as invested in worship, fellowship, or other aspects within our church family. Complacency is REAL. Try as we might it often sneaks up on us in ways we don’t expect.
We all need to invest into our individual faith so that we can experience the blessings of God together.
I think about Jesus in Luke 9 spending time alone in prayer. Refilling himself in a way so that he was able to invest in himself, then in turn do the same for others.
This week I hope you find time to ask God to break your heart and to tear those barriers down as you invest in your own walk with the Father. Even if it's in the tree stand, on the drive to work, a prayer before dinner, or a story with your kids before bed.
Invest in YOUR faith, so that you can invest in others.
